The Curriculum
A criminal justice degree empowers you – future law enforcement officers, social workers, and emergency responders – with solid decision-making skills. Understand the issues and realities of today’s criminal justice system while building the groundwork for advancement in the field. After all, your training ground is New York City. You can’t do better than that!
Interested in policing and law enforcement? Check out Monroe's Police Academy ScholarS program. This two-year prep program meets for three-hour sessions over six semesters and includes physical training and off-campus trips.
This course is an overview of anti-discrimination laws in the United States. It examines the protection of individual rights afforded by the Constitution by analyzing litigation against violations of individual rights. Particular emphasis is placed on race discrimination, sex discrimination, as well as other relevant areas.
At Monroe, you’re not going to just sit in front of a computer. You’ll get the chance to put your academic smarts to the test in the real world when you do an internship. And you’ll broaden your experiences – and your network – by joining a club or honor society connected with your field.
