He was recently awarded the 2025 NJCAA ITF Atlantic Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year award by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Bure qualified in a region-high four events at nationals, reaching Lubbock in the 800m, 1000m, distance medley relay and 4x400m relay. The standout sophomore finished ninth in the 1000m, clocking in at 2:30.80.
The South Africa native ranks in the top-15 nationally in the four events he qualified for at nationals. His 1:52.47 time in the 800m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational is the fastest in the region. Bure also holds the fastest time in the region in the 1000m when he clocked in at 2:27.41 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
As reported on the Mustang's website, the USTFCCCA also announced that our track and field head coach Shirvon Greene and assistant coach Shanique McKenzie-Daniel were awarded Atlantic Region men's head coach and men's assistant coach of the year, respectively.
