Jenise Richardson chose Monroe for the positive energy, supportive environment, and generous transfer credit policy. She was also able to balance work as Director of Public Relations for the Incorporated Village on Long Island while attending school because of Monroe’s flexible scheduling.
Jenise’s commitment to community service was sparked by her time at Monroe as she was able to experience various societal challenges around campus. A crisis communication issue during her studies, involving water contamination, showcased the real world application of her Monroe education as her professor provided crucial support to combat the issue.
She left an exciting career at Viacom and Loews Cineplex Entertainment, where she gained valuable experience but felt as though she wasn’t making a community difference. After graduating with a Master’s of Business Administration and Concentration in Marketing, Jenise founded her own agency, J Carol Marketing where she now holds the position of President and Creative Director. Certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) in New York, her agency specializes in non-profit, government, real estate, and education sectors.
Jenise now sits on the board for the Good Neighbors Community Outreach Agency. She manages the social media and branding for the organization’s major event, "Fun in the Son," attracting over 15,000 attendees annually and offering free health screenings, food, clothing, and mental health resources to those in the surrounding community. Additionally, she serves on the Comprehensive Board Committee for Mt. Vernon, and continues to find ways to give back.
Jenise’s passion for making a difference also led her to co-author a children's book with her daughter, "Adventures In Goobieland: Sickybug," promoting safe hygiene practices.
Reflecting on her journey, Jenise expresses extreme gratitude for the opportunities and support Monroe College provided. She believes in giving back to the institution that significantly shaped her career. She chose to return to Monroe as an Adjunct Instructor, teaching Marketing Foundations.
