Organizations of every size depend on computer information systems — not only to stay in business, but to gain a competitive edge. Computers, networks, and applications don’t build themselves. They need skilled experts to bring them into being, and to keep them running from day to day.
Those experts don’t build themselves, either. Acquiring those technical, analytical, and managerial skills takes work. It takes study. It takes hands-on, practical experience. It takes the kind of training you’ll get with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from our School of Information Technology.
At Monroe, you can do it in a program that’s entirely online. You’ll take all the same courses that you would in our on campus program — only you‘ll get to do it in a way that works with your busy life.
As you think about your future career, you’re likely thinking about two things: stability and fulfillment. A career in computer information systems offers both, and it all starts with earning your degree.
Working in computer information systems requires creative problem solving, lifelong learning, staying on top of new trends and technologies, and working with dynamic, multi-talented teams. The world of technology moves fast. When you know how to keep up with it, it’s an exciting ride.
With our fully accredited online Computer Information Systems degree, you can do more thankeep up. You can stay ahead of the curve. You’ll gain the skills you need not only to help you get your foot in the door, but to keep growing throughout your career.
Online Curriculum
From the moment you start working toward your online degree, you’ll train on industry-standard hardware and software, building your expertise in the following:
Cisco networking & CyberOps
Database management & administration
Project management
Network security
System analysis & design
Wireless technology
Web design
Programming
You’ll also be able to use open electives to concentrate on a particular area of technology, such as networking, programming, security, databases, or web development. And as you complete each of your online classes, you’ll feel more and more prepared to earn the valuable certifications you’ll need as you begin your career:
You’ll build a lot more than technical expertise. You’ll also learn how to be a team builder, a critical thinker, a communicator, and a manager — the soft skills that will help employers and colleagues recognize your skills.
Through it all, you’ll have the full support of our dedicated support team, including teachers who come from the very field you’re working to be a part of. Your instructors will carry with them decades of experience as network analysts, software engineers, web designers, database administrators, project managers, and chief information officers (CIOs).
