Head Basketball Coach Jeff Brustad Earns 500th Career Win

Congratulations to Jeff Brustad, head coach of our Division I Mustangs men’s basketball program! He earned his 500th career win tonight in the team’s 2022 season opener against Dutchess Community College.



The Mustangs won the game against Dutchess Community College with a score of 97-67 at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Students, faculty, and staff came out to support the team and Coach Brustad in anticipation of a possible win.



President Marc Jerome and Chairman Stephen Jerome were on hand to congratulate Coach Brustad and present him with a crystal award commemorating tonight’s impressive career highlight.



In another impressive milestone, tonight signaled the start of Coach Brustad’s 20th season leading the men’s basketball program. During that time, he has led the Mustangs to eight appearances in the NJCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Championship.



Coach Brustad's career record now improves to an impressive 500-137 for a winning percentage of .785. He earned his 400th win back in March 2017 following a win against Indian Hills Community College at an NJCAA Championship tournament.




To date, Coach Brustad has accumulated eight District Coach of the Year awards and 12 Region 15 Coach of the Year honors.
