  • Monroe College Online

Monroe Online is a “virtual” real-world education with unsurpassed support and flexibility.

For more than 80 years, Monroe College has dedicated itself to providing career-oriented education and training. Monroe Online is no different. Online students can rest easy knowing that their program meets the same standards as our onsite ones, and that the online curriculum is identical to what’s available onsite. And, because our online classes are designed to be totally in sync with those on campus, students can easily create a blended schedule that combines the best of both experiences.

Among the additional advantages separating Monroe Online from other programs is an unparalleled level of support and encouragement. Upon applying, you’ll be matched with a Personal Admissions Counselor whose sole job is to help you with all aspects of getting started. Once the semester begins, you’ll be assigned a Personal Student Services Counselor who will help guide your studies, assist with tutoring and keep up your progress.

Monroe also provides students with an online tutoring service that can be accessed 24/7 as well as one-on-one assistance in Monroe’s on-campus Learning Resource Centers. For academic help, professors have weekly online office hours and, once a month, each professor holds a face-to-face online class where discussions can be had in real time. Online students are encouraged to use their full access to Monroe’s libraries, study centers, recreational and career facilities.

If you’ve attended another institution before coming to Monroe Online, we’ll look closely at your transcript and make sure we can give you every possible credit in your new degree program. Monroe provides students with an opportunity to get credit in a variety of ways, including credits earned at a prior institution, tests and examinations and life experience. Students may also earn credit if they were in the military or attended police or correctional training academies. You may also be eligible to sit for CLEP exams to earn additional credit. It can all add up to getting that degree faster than you thought.

We are proud to be New Yorkers and we take advantage of our campus locations in the New York Metropolitan area. We draw our faculty from the talent pool in New York City, many of whom are leaders in healthcare, criminal justice, hospitality and other industries that are widespread in the area. They bring relevant, real-world experience into the online classroom and share practical insights to complement your coursework. Online students also have the benefit of participating in a flagship program that places thousands of students into internships in New York each year.

We know that students want to learn when they want to learn and not necessarily when class is scheduled. That’s what makes Monroe Online so appealing. It’s where a student can excel and gain a body of knowledge needed to take their career to the next level and do it when it’s convenient for them. Such convenience combined with the support of the staff and facilities of a ground campus is what continues to make Monroe Online such a popular choice to get that degree.
