Candidates for a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems must meet the following general admissions requirements: 

• Applicants must possess either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
• Candidates must also submit a completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.

CIS applicants also participate in a pre-admission interview.

• Monroe is proud to sponsor a chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society (with headquarters right here in New York). ACM members have access to competitions, seminars, lectures, workshops, and networking opportunities held throughout the year.
• The Information Technology Student Association (ITSA) holds weekly meetings where students in the School of Information Technology can exchange ideas and insights. The group also holds regular events, hosting visiting speakers and organizing exciting tech challenges. In addition, members volunteer their services to businesses in the surrounding community.
