  • Institutional Research and Reporting

The institutional research arm of IPEB is responsible for providing data and information for administrative decision making.  It collects and analyzes data and information, and reports the findings to College administration and others associated with the institution.  It also provides data for external compliance reporting (see below).  Analysis of institutional research centers on information about students, faculty, courses, and programs.

Institutional research is also available to assist other College offices with gathering and structuring data and reports. IPEB lends assistance with strategic planning, accreditation applications, and other organizational improvement processes.  The office relies on and works closely with other parts of the College that collect data used as the basis for institutional research reports.

The institutional reporting function of IPEB provides data, information, and research to fulfill mandatory state, federal, and grant reporting requirements (as exhibited in the timeline below).  It also provides the College with factual data related to institutional functions (i.e., enrollment, retention and conversion rates, residence life data, career services indicators, average class size, attendance, course evaluations, student and faculty satisfaction, demographics, and outcomes) for preparation of internal documents such as the Annual Databook.
