St. Lucia

Located on the Vide Boutielle Highway, Monroe College’s St. Lucia campus offers a practical education designed to give students a competitive edge in the workplace.

  • Who is eligible to join the Honors Program? What does it take to get into the Honors Program?

    New students may be referred to the Program by individuals such as school deans and faculty members, admissions counselors, the director of international programs or a member of the Honors Board. New students must possess:

    • Strong record of achievement in high school or previous college (with no more than 60 transfer credits from a previous institution)
    • Strong results on the Monroe College placement exams in English and mathematics
    • A letter of recommendation from an administrator or a teacher
    • Successful interview with an Honors Program Board member
    • Completed Honors Program application

    Continuing students may initiate the application process, or a member of the Monroe College community (faculty, student or staff) may refer them. Continuing students must possess:

    • High academic standing—minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
    • Superior writing, analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Recommendation from a Monroe College faculty or staff member
    • Record of leadership and/or contributions to the campus community
    • Successful interview with an Honors Program administrator
    • Completed Honors Program application

    Finally, exceptional students may be invited to participate in the Honors Program based on previous academic success, excellent writing ability and a remarkable interview with a member of the Honors Board.
