  • Pharmacy Technician - Certification Program

Monroe’s comprehensive course will prepare students for an entry-level position in a retail, hospital, long-term care, home-health care, or physician office pharmacy. The student will learn to assist the pharmacist within their scope of practice, and to perform necessary unsupervised daily tasks including basic to extensive medication preparation, dosage calculations, compounding, IV admixture, patient information maintenance, and inventory and quality control. Employment of pharmacy technicians is projected to grow 12 percent from now to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. Increased demand for prescription medications, and an aging population, are just two of the factors that are causing this growth.
