Academic Performance
Based on their performance and commitment to their classes, students are graded on a 4.0 grading scale. Every semester, your child's grades will be calculated into a grade point average, which is the overall indicator of how the student has performed. Grade point averages are typically the most important barometer for determining a student's eligibility for financial aid and graduation, as well as for scholarships. For employers, it is can be an important factor in determining whether or not a student should be extended an invitation for a job interview.
Students need to have a 2.0 GPA ("C" average) both overall and within their major to graduate from Monroe College. For additional guidelines on the GPA required for maintaining financial aid or more information on Academic programs and requirements, please see the Academics section of the web site.
