Career Assessment

The process of choosing a career often begins with self-assessment. Consider taking a self assessment program called FOCUS to learn more about your strengths and interests. Focus is a self - paced on-line guidance program that helps you in exploring careers, understanding your values, interests, and skills and then matches them with suggested careers.

After taking the assessment, meet with a Monroe Career Advisor to discuss your results and generate ideas for careers to research. Keep in mind that no single test can tell you "what you should be" and that successful career planning may require lots of time and effort.

Focus

Focus is a self-paced, online career guidance program used to assist you in career exploration. Through using FOCUS, you are able to research careers, understand your values, interests, skills and potential career matches with greater clarity.

Below is a link to register for FOCUS. Please contact the office of Career Advancement for the key code that will enable you to begin this assessment. It produces a personalized report with suggested career possibilities for you to consider and research.

Get started. Be honest. Enjoy using this instrument to help guide your career decisions. And please remember our career counselors are available to assist in interpreting and helping you make your results work for you. Every step up the way.
