"Women for Hire" Luncheon - June 2007
| The Monroe College Alumni Association recently sponsored five current students and three alumni to attend a special luncheon given by the organization "Women for Hire." The luncheon / networking event was held on Tuesday, June 12th and featured Ms. Robin Roberts, co-anchor of the ABC show "Good Morning America." Ms. Roberts shared stories about her rise to the top of media, television, sports and news. She went from being a sports anchor and reporter at a local Mississippi station to winning three Emmys for her work on ESPN prior to her current position at ABC. The event proved to be a very special event, with Ms. Roberts sharing her informative, practical and inspiring advice to those in attendance. Ms. Megan Martin, Marketing Coordinator for "Women for Hire" wrote to us in an email saying "Thanks for purchasing tickets for your students. We're excited to have them there. I'm sure it will be a great networking opportunity for them as well." |
