Located in downtown New Rochelle, NY, a thriving suburban community in Westchester County, the Monroe College New Rochelle campus is nestled in a diverse area that includes small shops and large stores, neighborhood restaurants and chains, and the mammoth New Roc City entertainment and shopping complex that contains movie theaters, a skating rink and arcade. Monroe students, faculty, and staff make frequent use of those nearby amenities.
Because the campus lies in an active suburban community with numerous convenient transportation options, Monroe students can commute to school. Also, the campus provides residence for 750 students, who dorm in sixteen separate buildings, including Alison Hall, which houses 200 students.
There are six academic buildings on the New Rochelle campus, including a state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Center, which was opened right in the center of the campus in October, 2006.
Because the academic facilities and residence halls are located in the heart of New Rochelle, members of the college community avail themselves of the nearby parks and beaches along scenic Long Island Sound as well as the short walk to public transportation and a brief 20-minute ride from New York City.
